Coordination is essential to become a top level sprinter. Anyone can run, but sprinting at 10-12 meters a second takes skill. Here's a great drill to develop an athlete’s coordination and improve the technique of their stride so they can reach their best time!
The biggest goal as a sprinter is to generate as much power into the ground in as little time as possible. This is a great drill that isolates essential parts of the sprint running motion and teaches sprinters how to maximize the amount of power they generate on contact with the ground.
This is a great drill to improve a runner’s ability to explode and accelerate out of the blocks. Athlete starts by getting down into a standing long jump position, explodes out with full extension, and lands on one foot then accelerates forward.
A more intensive version of the fast leg, this drill will help develop a fundamental stride but has the added benefit of being a conditioning exercise as well.
